As far as I’m concerned, Halloween is the best holiday there is. Every year I look forward to decorating the house, picking out candy, and when I have the time, coming up with a fun costume. Here are some of the ways I’m getting into the spirit of Halloween this year:
1| The first thing I did at the start of October was add some Halloween flair to the entryway table. I smile every time I walk in the front door and see it.
2| It’s been a busy month, and since we aren’t going out for Halloween this year, I didn’t put much thought into a costume. Since I’m going to stay home and pass out candy, I wanted something fun and comfortable to wear. Last week I saw this Unicorn Onesie at Target and it was love at first sight. It’s sort of a costume and why can’t I wear pajamas to give out candy? Plus, it has a rainbow tail!
The thing is, I couldn’t wait until Halloween to wear it, so I’ve been wearing it while hanging around the house every chance I get. It’s super soft, comfy, and it makes me laugh.
3| It’s become a yearly tradition for me to put up Halloween lights on the trees in the front yard. I got cute candy corn and ghost lights from Target for the front tree by the mailbox and orange twinkle lights (also from Target) for the back two trees that are closer to the house. Unfortunately when it’s really windy, the ghosts tend to fly away and I have to search for them in the leaves and bushes to put them back on the string of lights.
4| This little guy greets guests at the front door along with our motion sensor lights that say “Happy Halloween” with a ghost sound whenever someone walks up.
5| Years ago David, as a bit of a joke, got me this inflatable Halloween Hello Kitty while I was living in a condo as a bit of a joke. I don’t think he ever imagined I would actually put it in our front yard when we got a house. Yes, it’s tacky, but I love it. I did wait until yesterday to set it up though – I didn’t want to annoy any neighbors by having it up for weeks.
All I have left to do is buy the actual candy. I’m waiting until last-minute so I won’t be tempted to eat it all before Monday.
