Five on Friday

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I’m excited to share that I’m this week’s HF4F featured blogger! Be sure to go link up!

1| You Must Remember This – I’ve been a big fan of the You Must Remember This Podcast for about two years. The podcast details the lives of iconic film stars and the host Karina Longworth does a phenomenal job of pulling you into the story. This season she is covering famous blond actresses that died young and tragically and I couldn’t recommend it more.

2| Feud – Speaking of old Hollywood, I am absolutely hooked on the new Ryan Murphy anthology Feud. This season covers the feud between Joan Crawford and Bette David (a story told in the You Must Remember This Podcast last season) and the making of their movie Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. I can’t get enough of the story and Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon do a fantastic job playing the former hollywood starletes.

3| Wedding Drama – David and I have found a wedding location and venue that we love and we are in the process of negotiating and finalizing the contracts. Hopefully everything will be done this weekend. We couldn’t be more excited, aside from the fact that a very key family member is flat-out refusing to go. They want us to get married somewhere else and to have a more traditional wedding. They even went behind our back, despite our telling them not to, and met with an event coordinator at their preferred location, planning a wedding for us down to the menu. The amount of stress being piled on by this person has made the last two weeks absolutely miserable even though I am pretty sure they are bluffing about not attending our wedding just to get their way. Despite the stress, we are both so happy to have finally found what we want and to be moving forward with it.

4| New Spring Kicks – I was in desperate need of new sandals this year after clearing out all my old, beaten up pairs. I found these and these and fell in love. I can’t wait for the crazy cold weather we have in Atlanta to end so I can finally wear them!

5| Declutter – We have accumulated so much stuff in this house and I am going to start going room by room to clear out what we don’t need. I absolutely hate having stuff strewn across flat surfaces and clutter stressed me out. This weekend, I’m going to start in the closet and get rid of all the clothes I have been sentimentally holding on to, but never wear.

  • Omg that is awful about your wedding! I’m not getting married anytime soon, but eloping often seems appealing just to avoid family drama! Speaking of drama (and family), my mom has been watching Feud and she loves it! I really liked Ryan Murphy’s OJ miniseries, so maybe I should check out Feud. Congrats on being the H54F featured blogger and have a great weekend!

    • Thank you! As for eloping, I completely agree – my preference was to elope, but David wants his friends and family present, which I understand. But when thinks get difficult, I remind him we can still elope. You absolutely should give Feud a try! It’s slower than the OJ show but it’s so good.

  • I love those flats! Best of luck with all of your wedding plans – you (and your fiancé) deserve to have your dream wedding!

    Have a great weekend!

    • Thank you! we’re trying to make the dream wedding happen, while also keeping other people happy, but of course you can’t make everyone happy. I hope you’re having a wonderful week!

  • Decluttering feels so good! I took a huge load over to Salvation Army of dishes (do we need 5 colanders and 15 shot glasses? no!), clothes (mostly my husband’s, because I clean mine out multiple times per year), and books. So many books.

    • Luckily since getting my Nook, I’ve cut down on the clutter of books I used to have. But oh many, the clothes. One weekend isn’t enough time to clear out all the clothes I’ve managed to hold on to.

  • You Must Remember This is one of my fave podcasts too! I remember seeing a commercial for the TV show but I forgot to record it! I need to find it on demand (hopefully) + catch up!
